In the heyday of the Moneyball era, the small-market team that could, just about did. Earned a trip to The ALCS, anyway. We were fans that got to execute for this team in every way possible, from TV spots to in-stadium signage, to promotional giveaways for the first 5,000 fans. They weren't the only game in town, just the most fun.
The A's had a long tradition of clever spots. The challenges are steep. Any of these guys can get hurt at any time, so you need enough inventory for a six-month, 162-game season. And fans might be seeing these in-stadium, or in a crowded bar — or in a crowded bar, inside the stadium. So you want them to tell a story without relying solely on dialog. Plus, whenever there is a promotion coming up, they're gonna need to get the word out on those too. You're gonna need a bunch of grinders on your team to make it deep into October.
